About Teas

The Japanese Matcha & Teas come from Yame, Japan. For more information, see the “Shop” page.

Our Sencha, Hojicha and Matcha come from Yame, Japan. For more information, see the “Shop” page.

Your teas can be brewed in any type of teapot or tea holder. We recommend you to prepare your Sencha or Hojicha tea in a Kyusu (急須), which is a traditional Japanese teapot mainly used for preparing/brewing Japanese green tea. For preparing your Matcha tea, a bowl is very useful. Therefore, we recommend you to prepare it the traditional way in a Chawan (茶碗) by using a Chasen (茶筅)

You can drink your tea from any type of tea cup. We recommend you to drink your Sencha and Hojicha tea from any type of ceramic cup based on your own preference. Our preference has the Yunomi (湯呑み) cup. This is a Japanese-style tea cup. Unlike European-style tea cups, a Yunomi does not have a handle and is made thicker. For your Matcha tea, we recommend you to drink it from a Chawan (茶碗).

We recommend you to add 3 g of Sencha or Hojicha tea leaves to a Kyusu (急須) filled with 150 – 200 mL water with a temperature of ± 80 °C. You can adjust the amount of tea and water temperature to your own preference.

Depending on the type of tea leaves, we recommend you to brew Sencha/Hojicha/Matcha tea with a water temperature of ± 80 °C. You can adjust the water temperature to your own preference.

Your Sencha/Hojicha/Matcha are best stored at room temperature. We recommend you to store your tea in its original packaging. To protect your tea from aging, you can use a vacuum sealer. If you finish drinking in a few months, storage is not a problem at room temperature. If it is more than that, the refrigerator is accurate.
Tea contains about 2% water, so it deteriorates over time.
Ideally, a vacuum sealer is a better storage method as it creates a perfect vacuum.

Check your tea label for the suggested best before date.

This is your personal preference. Our Sencha tea has a more sweet taste. The Hojicha leaves have a more roasted taste, and our Matcha tea tends to be more bitter.

Yes, you can drink your Sencha/Hojicha/Matcha tea cold. This will give a different tasting experience.

This depends on your personal taste. We recommend you to infuse the same tea leavestealeaves 2 to 3 times, while using 3 g of tea leaves with 150 – 200 mL water with a temperature of ± 80 °C.

Yes, you can use the 2 to 3 times infused tea leavestealeaves as a cooking ingredient.

Order (online)

 All orders will be processed and shipped out within 2-3 business days (Monday to Friday), depending on your country, but may take up to 3 days for some destinations. Your online order will be shipped as soon as we are ready. You will receive an email notification with the order’s shipping confirmation and its track and trace number.

After placing your online order at teathemoment.com, you will receive a confirmation email to the email address you have used in your order.

No, you do not have to set up an account to place an online order in our webshop at teathemoment.com.

You cannot cancel your online order by yourself, but you can send an email to support@teathemoment.com. Your online order can only be cancelled before it has been shipped. After being shipped, we cannot guarantee a cancellation.

Payment

For paying your online order, we accept the following instant payment methods iDEAL, Creditcard, Bancontact, and Giropay.

Your online order will be charged in local currency: Euro.

Online orders from Belgium, France, Germany and Sweden will not be subject to VAT charges, while order within the Netherlands will be subjected to 9% VAT.

When you place your online order, you will be charged to pay the full amount by using one of the following instant payment methods iDEAL, Creditcard, Bancontact or Giropay.

Shipping & Delivery

If your address is in the Netherlands, your order will normally arrive two days later. Due to the coronavirus, the shipment of your order may take longer before it reaches your address. If your address is out of the Netherlands, your order arrival will depend on the destination of your country.

Return Policy

Please get in touch with us by completing the Get in touch with us page or send an email to support@teathemoment.com. Thereafter, we will help you to send the shipment back to us and make sure that a new item will be sent to you.

If you are not 100% satisfied with your product, you can return the product and get a full refund. You can return your product within 30 days from the original purchase date. Product must be returned in the same condition you received it and in the original product packaging.
